Upon arrival in Zagreb, you will be transferred to your hotel (driving time 20 to 45 min). A welcome drink will be readily available once you check in. You will have the opportunity to meet your tour guide and other fellow travellers on your tour over a plate of Strukli, a local specialty in Zagreb.
After a lovely breakfast, you will start the day with a walking tour around the captial city Zagreb with your guide. In the medieval town, you will visit St. Mark’s church, famous for its multicolour tiled roof, Parliament, the government palace, and many more attractions. After the sightseeing you’ll head towards Opatija (driving time 2:30h), situated on the scenic Kvarner Bay, there you will enjoy a dinner and overnight stay in Opatija.
Today you will be discovering the Istrian peninsula and visiting the 2000 year old roman Colosseum located in Pula. You’ll get to have some time to relax in Rovini, the most beautiful city in Istria and the inspiration of many artists. Livade is the next stop, for a sample of one of Istrian tastiest treasures, the truffle. We will be dining there and we will stay overnight in Opatija. (Departure at 9:00h, return around 18:00h)
Today you will be visiting the most stunning and oldest national park in Croatia under UNESCO protection. There are 16 lakes connected by magnificent waterfalls. The park is located in Lika mountain. The entrance includes a boat ride across the Emerald Green Lake “Kozjak” and a train ride back to the main entrance. You will be walking through the national park which can take up to 3 hours. Dinner will be served at the hotel and overnight stay in Plitvice area in included. (Driving time 3:00h)
Today after breakfast in the hotel, we will drive down from the mountain region of Lika via the coast towards the city of Šibenik. The town of Šibenik is rich in history and culture. The you will visit the famous Cathedral of Šibenik (St. Jacobs), one of the most original architectural projects of the late Middle Ages, primarily linked to the local master Juraj Matejev Dalmatinac (George of Dalmatia). From Šibenik we continue to the Bibich Winery for a gourmet experience, not just a simple wine tasting experience. The winery burnt to the ground during the war is now producing rewarded wines and exporting 80% of their production to USA & Scandinavia. You will taste the Dalmatian Debit white wine and Cuvee of Shiraz & Merlot, accompanied with delicious Croatian style Tapas. Departure towards Split for overnight. (Total driving time 4 to 5h)
Today’s Split is the achievement of seventeen centuries of men and women building and adding, tearing down and touching up, so that 18th century houses intersect with ancient Roman walls and fourth century chambers house twentieth century apartments. At the heart of this extensive cityscape is the palace the Emperor Diocletian which you will be visiting. Today's you will also have a chance to try a traditional Dalmatian dish – Pašticada which we will taste at the Tragos restaurant in Trogir. The town of Trogir, a UNESCO site, has a fascinating 2300 years of continuous urban tradition. Its rich culture was created under the influence of old Greeks, Romans, and Venetians. Trogir is a place occupied by palaces, churches, and towers, as well as fortresses on a small island.
On our way to Dubrovnik there will be a pit stop near the town of Ston, where we visit a local winery and taste the famous ‘Plavac Mali’ wine, a very close relative to the Zinfandel. The wine tasting consists of a wine presentation on all the specifics of the wine-making process, wine tasting and snack. Arrival in Dubrovnik and overnight. (Driving time 5 hours)
The old city Dubrovnik has remained untouched since the thirteenth century. Its medieval walls’ surrounding the city gives the authenticity and real charm. Pedestrians can enter through one of two gates – where you will cross a stone bridge under the watchful gaze of the city’s patron Saint Blaise (Vlaho), to find thw promenade down the broad, stone-paved avenue known as Stradun. After the sightseeing you have free time to explore the city on your own. Overnight in Dubrovnik
After Breakfast the tour comes to an end. You will be transfered back to the airport for your return journey.
