Things To Do At Karpaz Gate Marina

HEMINGWAY’S RESTO-BAR

Ideal for indoor or outdoor dining, Hemingway’s Resto-Bar on the Promenade is a beautifully designed contemporary restaurant offering seasonal menus featuring international and traditional Cypriot cuisine. The nautically-themed venue, which is named after the American author, Ernest Hemingway, is open for breakfast lunch and dinner and seats up to 200 people. Inside, there is a mix of seating in the lounge, with widescreen TV screens for news and sport, while outside the comfortable seating overlooks the yachts. With a set menu and a la carte choice, Hemingway’s offers a selection of salads, pasta, fish and meat dishes, with a wide range of soft and alcoholic drinks. 

BEACH CLUB

A short walk along the Promenade, the Karpaz Gate Marina Beach Club offers guests a perfect oasis where they can relax and wind down. A large infinity pool shimmers invitingly in the sun, while there is also a 200m private beach, water float. Full facilities at the beach club include showers, a beach bar, and kayak hire.

MEPHISTO DIVING

On-site school Mephisto Diving is on hand to help marina visitors experience the joy of diving in the warm seas and crystal clear waters of Northern Cyprus. Offering expert advice, courses and tours for divers of all ages and standards, the school is available for the long diving window available from April to November. With some of the best scuba diving locations in the Med, with visibility up to 30m. Diving is popular with all calibres of divers as the wildlife compliments the popular locations for divers.

ART GALLERY

The special gallery area at Karpaz Gate Marina was launched summer 2013 with the opening of ‘Karpaz: Untapped Beauty’ by renowned Brazilian photographer Dudu Tresca. Other exhibition have included Turkish Cypriot artist Nil Köken’s first exhibition in the TRNC, ‘A Journey in Nature's Dreams’ and the Piri Reis Ancient Maps Exhibition dis-played navigation maps, dating from as early as 1521.

THE MARKET

The Market stocks luxuries and branded items, including a range of sun-screen shirts and hats for adults and children, and beach shoes.

GYM

The well-equipped, modern fitness centre has several running machines, cross trainers, rowing machines, weight machines and dumbbells for cardio and strengthening exercises. TV screens are positioned along the gym walls.

CHANDLERY

Cyprus Yachts, a subsidiary of the Gibraltar-based Sea-Alliance Group, has a sales office and chandlery store on the Promenade. The store is stocked with clothing, accessories, fishing equipment, electronics parts and spares for both sail and power boats. 

Children's Entertainment

A playground including a slide and plenty to explore aboard a pirate-themed play area in the shape of a ship fun is a fun attraction for the youngsters. During the summer months, the Karpaz Gate Marina ice-cream cart opens up next to the playground, where there is also seating with sunshades. A Mini-Mariners Club is also open on Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 20:00pm, screening movies for children and their parents. 

Special Events

Weekly Movie Nights are held at the marina Art Gallery where visitors can enjoy the featured film in a relaxed at-mosphere, with drinks available and a pre-cinema set menu. There are also regular Music Nights and barbecues at the Beach Club and Hemingway’s. From 5pm to 7pm every night, there is a Happy Hour at Hemingway’s and once a month there is a ‘Saturday Night Live’ party. 

Activities

Karpaz Gate Marina is the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding countryside. Hiking and walking routes in the nearby Karpaz national reserve feature wonderful views, plus there is a mountain trail covering over 100 miles. There are also plenty of cycling routes to ride, including the famous Kyrenia Mountain trail. There is an 18-hole golf course a short drive away at the prestigious Korineum Golf & Beach Resort.
