Antalya City Holidays

Overview

City Of Antalya Holidays

Antalya City is the largest city in the Antalya area and because of this has absolutely everything to offer for the perfect holiday. Being such a well established location for thousands of years means that Antalya City has been touched by history many times, each civilization leaving their own unique mark that can still be seen today.

Arapsu Bridge is, although plain, perhaps one of the most fascinating finds, being an original Roman bridge that is still in amazingly good condition. Along with this small bridge, Antalya City also has remnants of an aqueduct underneath the astonishingly beautiful Yivli Minaret Mosque (Alaeddin Mosque) which has been put on full display for every history enthusiast to admire.

However, for those seeking a slower, sunnier pace to their resort, Antalya will most certainly please everyone. Not only does Antalya have multiple dream-like beaches, offering a range of pebbles and sand, they are fantastically clean and offer some of the best views anywhere along the Turkish coast due to the breath-taking Beydaglari Mountains.

The mountains can be viewed around the city, and allow Karaalioglu Park to be an absolutely perfect photo opportunity with the mountain range as a stunning backdrop. As well as the Beydaglari range, the Taurus mountains also run through Antalya City, creating natural bays and some areas of remarkable coastline, as well as some fantastic waterfalls. The Duden waterfalls are the best and most impressive of the three major falls in Antalya City, allowing access to both the pool below, and the ability to walk behind the cascade for a once in a life time moment.

More Antalya City Holiday Information

If phenomenal natural beauty and astounding historical monuments aren’t a priority, there’s always the culture of the city. Not only does Antalya City have multiple museums celebrating subjects from history to toys, there are also annual music, folk and flower festivals. And the old centre of Antalya City, Kaleici, is full of historic Ottoman era houses and has the look of an ancient time whilst staying thoroughly modern with numerous bars, clubs and shops.

Antalya City uniquely combines the modern world with a beautiful backdrop and Tunek Tepe on the west side of Antalya City is a fantastic example of this. Tunek Tepe is a hill that towers over 2000 ft over the Gulf of Antalya, and at its crest is the Doner Gazino, a nightclub as well as rotating restaurant.

In general Antalya City offers a blend of fantastic natural beauty, astonishing historical artifacts and convenient modern amenities as well as the undeniable Turkish charm that permeates every area in the Antalya region.
