Bodrum Town Holidays

Overview

Harbour Town of Bodrum

Bodrum is known as the land of eternal blue and there is no better way to sum up this beautiful part of the world. Bodrum is the yachting centre of Turkey, with the marina being an important stop for many cruises, day trip boats, yachts and gulets that pass through the area.

It makes for easy access to all of the surrounding sites, including ancient ruin dive sites and some of the most spectacular ocean views in all of Turkey. But the sparkling azure waves aren’t the only reason why Bodrum is one of the most popular destinations in the region, the shopping is also fantastic with a traditional Turkish bazaar as well as weekly markets offering some of the widest ranges of products from hand woven carpets that can last a lifetime to small silver trinkets, clothing and traditional Turkish tea and coffee. Take a stroll through the market and find yourself getting lost among all of the beautiful potential souvenirs and you might even find a few items far too precious to give away.

Despite the traditional Turkish markets and bazaar that sell very traditional items that are often handmade, the modern world is very present in the Bodrum Resort where there are some very popular clubs, bars and discos that appeal to both the young and the young at heart from foam parties to just a crisp beer or glass of wine at a beach side bar. Not to mention the numerous evening shows such as exotic and alluring belly dancers or a traditional folk dance that will have you struggling not to join in.

But for a slower pace to your holiday, make sure to take a day out from the shopping, sailing and parties to visitBodrum Castle, an enormous monument that towers over the coast and creates an absolutely stunning backdrop for photos. Bodrum Castle, also known as St Peter’s Castle, contains many artifacts from Turkish history as well as a museum of underwater archeology that contains a large and fascinating collection of objects recovered from ancient ship wrecks.

And of course a visit to Bodrum wouldn’t be complete without spending time on the outstanding beaches nearby and swimming or playing in the dreamlike waters that are warmed softly by the golden sun. Bodrum Resort can offer absolutely everything a visitor could wish for, from a metropolis of shops, bars and cafes to the most relaxing beaches and softly lapping waves.
