Ras Al-Khaimah Holidays

Overview

Ras Al-Khaimah

Ras Al-Khaimah is located in the northern part of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is served by the Ras Al-Khaimah international airport. A creek runs through the area, with Old Ras Al Khaimah on one side and then Nakheel on the other.

Around the main city of Ras Al-Khaimah is where many attractions can be found, while the sleepy little local villages and coastal towns cast a serenity over this destination and aqquainting visitors with a more traditional character of the UAE.

Aside from it's beautiful beaches, other historical highlights of Ras Al-Khaimah include Sheba's Palace, the ghost town of Al Jizrah Al Hamra, the souqs within the Old City, Dhayah Fort and The National Museum of Ras Al-Khaimah.

Dubai is about an hour and a half away by car, so definitely close enough for a day trip. The area also borders the Musandam Peninsula of Oman, which is a prime spot for scuba diving. There is some excellent accommodation here, amongst the paradise like environment. While equally as luxurious in feel as Dubai, Ras Al-Khaimah feels quieter, with its historical attributes more prominant. This is the place to be if in search of escape.
