Guests arrive in Istanbul and have the remaining day to discover Istanbul at their leisure. Perhaps checking out the many restaurants or rooftop bars in the city or enjoy traditional Turkish cuisine with some live Turkish music. Stay overnight in Istanbul.
Discover one of the most amazing cities in the world with a guided tour today. You will enjoy the fascinating sites of Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace, Hippodrome, the Blue Mosque. You will be staying in Istanbul tonight.
World War 1 history waits for you today. Tour the Battlefields of Gallipoli and be touched by the bravery of so many. Sites include memorials such as Chunuk Bair, Lone Pine, the ANZAC Bay, The Nek, Johnston's Jolly, and original trenches with tunnels.
Today you visit to the remains of the city of Troy – scene of the legendary Trojan Horse infiltration. From there the tour moves on to Pergamum Acropolis and the structures that still remain – such as the Library of Pergamum and the ruins of various temples. The evening is spent in the coastal town of Kusadasi.’
Today you can brush up on your history as you tour the ancient legendary city of Ephesus with the temple of Artemis and its theatre. After this you then are brought to Sirince to dicover the authentic village life and taste some fine fruit wines famous in the area.
Day 6 - Pamukkale, Hierapolis
Day 6 of the tour pauses to inspect displays of local hand-crafted leather produce, then moving on again to marvel over the travertine of Pamukkale: terraced pools formed from carbonated mineral deposits. The day finishes off with a trip to the ancient Hierapolis city, which dates back to Roman times. Visitors are welcome to bath in hot springs, valued for the therapeutic properties they hold. Overnight stay in Pammukale.
Travel through the ancient route of the Silk Road’, stopping off at Sultanhani ‘Caravansaray’ (an Ottoman style inn) and the museum of Mevlana in Konya enroute. There’s an exciting optional Turkish traditional folklore evening (extra payable locally)’
Day 8 sees further exploration of the Cappadocia region – Open Air Museum of the Goreme Valley , Fairy Chimneys of Pasabag , and the multiple levels of a city underground – followed by a second night’s stay in the region.
Day 9 sees us leave early morning for Turkey’s capital, Ankara, and scheduled visit to the famous Ataturk's mausoleum. From there it’s on to Istanbul for an overnight stay. [NB. An optional flight (extra cost please enquire) from Kayseri to Istanbul is available so you save the time of the coach transfer]
The tour concludes after breakfast. You say goodbye to your new friends and take your flight home.
