Itinerary
Istanbul – Day 1
On your arrival you will be picked up from the airport and taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your own leisure. Overnight will be in Istanbul.
Istanbul – Day 2
Today you will embark on a rare opportunity, and get to see Istanbul, the only city with two continents - Europe and Asia. After breakfast you will have a guided tour and visit attractions such as Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace and the Hippodrome. Overnight will be in Istanbul.
Safranbolu– Day 3
After breakfast you will travel to Safranbolu where you will see some of the most remarkable traditional Turkish civil architecture. You’ll walk through the cobbled streets passing through attractions such as Cinci Caravanserai and Bath, Governors House, Izzet Mehmet Pasa Mosque and the old shoe makers bazaar. Overnight will be in Safranbolu.
Hattusa (Cappadocia) – Day 4
Early morning departure for Cappadocia, visit the ancient Hittite capital of Hattusa. In the Yazilikaya rock sanctuary there are impressive carved reliefs that portray the Hittite gods. Continue to the unique volcanic area of Cappadocia. Overnight will be in Cappadocia.
Goreme, Uchisar Castle – Day 5
Today you will be mesmerized with your view! You’ll have a fully guided tour of the famous Goreme Valley, the fairy chimneys and Uchisar castle. Walk around the many different levels of the underground city and beyond. Overnight will be in Cappadocia.
Konya, Beysehir – Day 6
As you take to the roads, you’ll drive along the old Silk Road through the amazing city of Konya. You will visit the Sultanhani Caravanserai and Mevlana Museum, where they celebrate ‘Rumi’ the famous mystic and poet who founded the Whirling Dervishes. Our next stop is Beysehir which is also your overnight stop.
Antalya, Sagalassos – Day 7
Your attractions today will be the ancient site of Sagalassos. Here you will see Antonin’s Fountain and Hamam all built in the second century. Further, you will see the intact ruins of the area, the Anatolia theatre which stands 1574 metres high. The area will captivate you, as Sagalassos is one of the best preserved cities in all of Asia.
Pamukkale, Hierapolis – Day 8
You may have come across your next place on a postcard or travel brochure? Your next stop will be the calcium terraces known as Travertines. Plunge into the hot springs and embrace yourself with the ambience, imagine yourself back in time when the Romans used this for therapeutic powers. From here you will drive onto your next resort, Kusadasi to spend your night.
Ephesus, Kusadasi – Day 9
Visit the ancient city of Ephesus and see the Temple of Artemis. After your guided tour, you will take a trip to the former Greek Village of Sirince – be sure to taste and perhaps buy a mini souvenir of the famous fruit wines known to the region. On the subject of souvenirs, you should not miss the opportunity to see the amazing hand-made carpets of Turkey, hard not to be tempted to buy! You will see first-hand how carpets are made by hand and also how they are valued. Overnight stay will be in Kusadasi.
Pergamum, Troy – Day 10
Re-charge your energy at breakfast, before we set off and drive along the Aegean coast to reach the ancient city of Pergamum. You’ll see the imposing temples and library at the Acropolis of Pergamum, once renowned the culture and political point of its time. From here you will move north direction to tour the amazing city of Troy. Overnight stay will be in Canakkale.
Gallipoli Battlefields - Day 11
Get ready for a day that will take you right back in time! After breakfast you head to the Battlefields of Gallipoli. One will not leave without feeling some sort of connection with the history that sits right in front of your eyes. You will see the famous Lone Pine, Chunuk Bair Memorials, The Nek, Johnston’s Jolly and even the original trenches and tunnels from back in time. After the day has ended, you will be heading back to Istanbul for your overnight stay.
Istanbul - Day 12
This amazing trip has come to an end, but far from that, you will have amazing memories to share with loved ones and friends. You have captivated yourself with Turkey’s rich history, enthralled yourself with its culture, and have seen firsthand the amazing landscapes this beautiful country has to offer – but is that all? Certainly not, Turkey still has a lot more hidden gems for you, but until the next time bon voyage!
You will be transferred to the airport for your departure (as applicable for individual flight times).
