Itinerary

 

Day 1 – Gallipoli Battlefields

The Gallipoli Battlefields are an emotional place to visit, and one of the most famous places in Turkey to see.  Today you’ll vsee the World War 1 Gallipoli battle fields. This includes Chunuk Bair memorial the Lone Pine, Johnston's Jolly, The Nek, and Anzac Cove. See the original tunnels and trenches in the Anzac area.

Overnight stay is in Canakkale

 

Day 2 – Acropolis in Pergamum and Troy

Today offers the chance to see Troy and famous trojan horse. After this you will also be shown around the spectacular Pergamum Acropolis, which has magnificent temples and a library that enhance its important cultural and historical significance.

Overnight stay is in Kusadasi

 

Day 3 – Ephesus/ Kusadasi

Today you have the chance to experience even more fascinating history, with the tour stopping at perhaps Turkey’s most famous of sites: Ephesus. You will also see Artemis Temple, , which is full of the mysticisms of an ancient city and includes a theatre. Next up is the old Greek Sirince village, known for its fruit wines, dont forget to taste one! There's also a trip to a carpet village where you’ll learn how the authentic carpets are hand-made and what sets the value of each one apart.

Day 4 – Pamukkale/ Hierapolis

This morning provides plenty of eye candy with  handmade local leather artifacts on display. Then the views of Pamukkale’s and its glorious calcium white Travertine terraces. While we’re in the area there’s also a Hierapolis ancient city tour, where you also get a chance to dive into the spring water amongst the ancient columns. take the opportunity to bathe in the therapeutic hot springs of the Roman times.

Day 5 – Aphrodisias/Fethiye

Today we head along the scenic south coastal stretch of Turkey, heading towards the site of Aphrodisias, home of the famous Temple of Aphrodite.

Day 6 – Fethiye

Today is all about relaxation, as we take a chilled out day cruise around the twelve islands of Fethiye. There’s also the option to take a day tour to Saklikent Gorge, which is Turkey’s longest and deepest canyon.

Day 7 – Kayakoy/Antalya

We enjoy a relaxed morning and then take a leisurely afternoon drive to Antalya, where we’ll see the deserted Greek village of Kayakoy along the way.

Day 8 – Aspendos/Manavgat Waterfalls

Today includes a visit to the theatre at Aspendos ,which is known for being one of the best preserved theatres of Asia Minor and is still used to this day. After this we visit the Manavgat Waterfalls for some relaxing amongst beautiful scenery.

Overnight stay in Antalya

 

Day 9 – Konya/Cappadocia

Early departure for Cappadocia, stopping en-route to visit Konya and the mausoleum of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi with its museum. This afternoon we also stop to visit Sultanhani Caravansary, the largest in Anatolia.

Day 10 – Goreme/Uchisar Castle

You can gaze in awe at the lunar landscape with a fully guided tour of the Goreme Valley and its mystical fairy chimneys and Uchisar castle. We discover  the many levels of an underground city. There’s then an optional Turkish folklore evening later on!

Day 11 – Ihlara Valley/Underground City

Today involves a trek throughout the scenic Ihlara Valley as well as an exploration of the famous underground city. Plenty of photo opportunities!

Day 12 – Ankara

 

We leave early morning to reach the nation’s capital of Ankara, where we’ll pay a visit to Anitkabir, which is the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. We then return to Istanbul, which is where the tour ends.
