Aegean Odyssey Tour

Day 1 - Wed: Athens

Welcome to breath-taking Greece! You’ll be collected from the airport and transferred to your hotel, where the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure or start exploring the magical city of Athens, before meeting your tour leader and fellow travellers in the evening.

Day 2 - Thurs: Athens, Acropolis

Your day begins with a half-day tour of Athens after breakfast at the hotel. You’ll visit the famous Acropolis, see the stadium that hosted the first modern-day Olympic Games and be in awe at the Olympian Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch. You’ll also visit the Acropolis Museum, the Temple of Nike, the vast entrance of Propylaia and last, but definitely not least, the historic Parthenon.

Day 3 - Fri: Athens to Santorini

Our day begins early as we depart for the magical island of Santorini for some relaxation on its stunning beaches or a leisurely stroll through its beautiful city of Fira.

Day 4 - Sat: Santorini

You have the option of taking a boat trip to visit the world’s largest volcanic crater, where you can see an active volcano, or if you prefer more ‘R & R’, you can enjoy a relaxing swim in the thermal waters or even enjoy a therapeutic mud bath.

Day 5 -  Sun: Santorini to Mykonos

You’ll travel to famous Mykonos, where you can choose to either relax on the beach or explore the picturesque white-washed town. Be sure to save some energy for Mykonos’ vibrant night life!

Day 6 - Mon: Mykonos

The day is yours to enjoy in Mykonos at your leisure. Relax at the beach, explore the town further, or take one of the many day trips available to visit the neighbouring ancient island of Delos, a vast open-air museum.

Day 7 - Tues: Mykonos, Samos

Catch the midnight ferry to the island of Samos before making your way into Turkey. Depending on the ferry schedules, you should have time at your leisure to enjoy Samos town or Kusadasi.

Day 8 -  Wed: Pamukkale

You’ll visit the fascinating ruins of Hierapolis, the famous Temple of Apollo and the Necropolis before discovering the awe-inspiring Pamukkale terraces, with their cascading snow-white calcium pools.

Day 9 - Thurs: Ephesus, Kusadasi

Immerse yourself in history on a guided tour of the ancient city of Ephesus and a visit to the Temple of Artemis. Later, we’ll visit the village of Sirince, which is famous for its local fruit wine before visiting a carpet-weaving village where you’ll learn how carpets are hand-woven and how their values are determined.

Day 10 - Fri: Pergamum, Troy, Canakkale

Take a step back in time when we visit the historic city of Troy, before setting off on a tour of the ancient acropolis of Pergamum. See the vast temples and library that made it a cultural and political centre in its prime.

Day 11 - Sat: Gallipoli Battlefields

Enjoy a leisurely morning exploring the town of Canakkale before we head out to the WWI battlefields of Gallipoli in the afternoon. See the Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair memorials, the Nek, ANZAC Cove, Johnston’s Jolly and original tunnels and trenches from the war. After the tour, we continue our journey to Istanbul.

Day 12 - Sun: Istanbul Old City

Enjoy a tour of the magnificent transcontinental city of Istanbul and take in sites including the famous Blue Mosque, the St Sophia Museum, the Hippodrome and the fairy-tale Topkapi Palace.
Later, you’ll have the option to take a half-day cruise through the awe-inspiring Bosphorous Canal between Europe and Asia.

Day 13 - Mon: Istanbul

Your tour comes to an end after enjoying breakfast at the hotel and saying goodbye to your fellow travellers. You’ll be transferred to the airport to begin your journey home.
