Day 1 - Wed: Athens

Welcome to beautiful Greece! Upon your arrival, you’ll be collected and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free, and you can explore or relax as you please before meeting your tour leader and fellow travellers in the evening.

Day 2 - Thur: Athens Acropolis

Your day begins with a half day tour of Athens, where you’ll visit the historic Acropolis and see the stadium of the first modern Olympic Games. You’ll be in awe at the statue of the Olympian Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch, before visiting the Acropolis Museum, the Temple of Nike, the vast entrance of the Propylaia and finally, the famous Parthenon.

Day 3 - Fri: Athens to Santorini

We depart early to the magnificent island of Santorini, where you can relax on the stunning beaches and explore the captivating capital city of Fira.

Day 4 - Sat: Santorini

You can choose to join an optional boat trip to the world’s largest volcano crater, where you can visit an active volcano, swim in the thermal waters or relax in a rejuvenating mud bath.

Day 5 - Sun: Santorini to Mykonos

You’ll arrive in Mykonos and have the day to sit back and relax on the beach or explore the picturesque white-washed town, but be sure to save some energy for Mykonos’ vibrant night life!

Day 6 - Mon: Mykonos

The day is again yours to spend as you please in Mykonos. Soak up some sun, explore the town further, or take a day trip to one of the smaller surrounding villages.

Day 7 - Tues: Mykonos, Samos

Catch the midnight ferry to the island of Samos as we make our way to Turkey, where you can enjoy some free time to explore either Samos or Kusadasi, depending on ferry schedules on the day.

Day 8 - Wed: Ephesus, Kusadasi

Step back in time with a tour of historic Ephesus and a visit to the Temple of Artemis. Explore the ancient city and its famous theatre before we continue to Sirince, a village famous for its locally-made fruit wines. From there, we move on to a traditional carpet-weaving village, where beautiful carpets are still hand-woven. Discover how they’re made and what determines each carpet’s value.

Day 9 - Thurs: Pamukkale, Hierapolis

We start the day with a browse through a selection of locally-made leather goods before moving on to Pamukkale’s breath-taking cascades of white calcium terraces. We then explore the city of Hierapolis, where you can swim amongst ancient ruins in the natural hot springs onced used by the Romans.

Day 10 - Fri: Silk Road, Konya

Our morning begins with a trip through Silk Road, where we’ll visit the Mavlana Museum and the fascinating Sultanhani Caravansary en route. In the evening, you have the option of joining a fun traditional folklore evening.

Day 11 - Sat: Cappadocia, Goreme, Underground City

You’ll be in awe at Cappadicia’s stunning lunar landscapes when we visit the open-air museum at Goreme Valley before the unbelievable ‘fairy chimneys’ and a vast underground city.

Day 12 - Sun: Ankara

We depart early from Cappadocia and travel to Turkey’s capital city of Ankara. Here, we’ll visit the enormous mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the Anitkabir. We then return to Istanbul.

Day 13 -  Mon: Istanbul Old City

We’ll tour the exotic and captivating transcontinental city of Istanbul and visit its most famous sites, including the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome, St Sophia Museum and the fairy-tale Topkapi Palace.
In the afternoon, you have the option of joining the Bospohorous cruise, which takes you through the narrow Bosphorous Channel separating Europe and Asia.

Day 14 - Tues: Istanbul

After enjoying breakfast, you’ll bid farewell to your fellow travellers as the tour comes to an end.

This itinerary is subject to change dependant on Greek ferry schedules. Although it is rare, occasionally ferry schedules are changed without notice, and sometimes a scheduled ferry departure may be cancelled due to weather conditions. If this occurs the program may need to be adjusted slightly, and at times it may mean you will spend less or more place in one location than originally planned for. This is the nature of Greek Island travel, and we thank you for your understanding in the rare event that something like this occurs. Instead of travelling between Cappadocia and Istanbul by bus, an optional morning flight from Kayseri (Cappadocia) to Istanbul is available at extra cost.

Accommodation will be provided at the hotels stated in the programme. In the event of the hotels becoming unavailable, alternative accommodation will be sourced for clients in hotels of an equal or higher standard.
