Turunc Bay
Turunc bay will allow you to really explore the Tukish way of life, with its small villages along the peninsula, market stools and tea gardens. A sleepy little town, Turunc offers you a place to take a break and experience a completely different way of life. With older civilisations enchanting the streets of Turkey you will feel like you’re walking through the past when exploring nearby places such as the world heritage site of Efes or Ephesus. Day trips such as this are spectacular, especially if you already have an interest in the culture and History of Dalaman and Turkey as a whole.
For those that want to find gifts, or just buy a few things to remember the holiday by, the market in Turunc is exactly what you’d be looking for. There you will find stools selling souvenirs and local foods, including delicious pine honey from bee hives on the mountains and succulent olives, not to mention a wide range of gloriously colourful fruits!
While on the topic of food, the main street also has a great selection of restaurants to satisfy the hungriest visitors. If you’re stuck for things to do in the evenings then there are a few music bars too.
One of the best things about Turunc is the fact there are many hidden bays and beaches to be found, which then allow you and whoever you’re with to enjoy some sun, sand and sea in complete privacy. The seclusion of such spots emphasises the peaceful nature to this area. It is always hospitable and welcomes you to take part in the Turkish customs. For any excursions there is the dolmus service, which is a small minibus that can take you to the resort of Marmaris too, where there are even more activities on offer.
There is much to explore. If you fancy a break in-between then the best place to go is the tea garden. This is the central meeting place for most Turkish residents. It is an extremely social and friendly atmosphere, where everyone chats and chain drinks tasty Turkish tea and just winds down. It is places such as this that make Turunc such an authentic part of the country to experience.
