The Grand Hotel is a prestigious establishment, and has a strong historical presence that represents a colonialist era. The hotel was once the former mansion of Sir Edward Barnes, who was the governor of Sri Lanka from 1830-1850. It still has a feel of luxury and opulence, so much so that guests might find themselves feeling like royalty! Its location also offers privacy between the mountains of Nuwara Eliya, so that you can soak up the sensual Sri Lankan nature and loose yourself to not only another culture, but another time. There are 156 rooms, with 3 Presidential suites and 4 deluxe suites also.
