You will be met on arrival and transferred from the airport to Colombo. Overnight at Galle Face Hotel – standard-classic room
After breakfast the tour heads from Colombo to Udawalawe, a journey of approximately five hours. Overnight stay at Centauria Tourist Hotel – standard room
Day 3’s excursion takes us to Udawalawe National Park, occupying a massive 30,821 hectares. This park falls within the Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces, between Udawalawe reservoir and the Walawe River. It’s surrounded by the mountain range that connects the Balangoda, Kalthota and Haputale escarpments. It has an annual rainfall of 1,524 mm and an average year-round temperature of 29.4°C. This park is world famous for its elephants, but there are species of deer, water buffalo and jackal to be seen too. Overnight stay at Centauria Tourist Hotel – standard room
Another national park and Sri Lanka’s most resent: Bundala National Park national park consists of various sized bodies of water, such as lagoons, reservoirs and salt pans. Apart from the wetlands, the park consists of dry, thorny scrub-forest. This type of woodland is unique to the dry and arid parts of the country. All species of water birds resident in the country, as well as migrant birds, inhabit this park. From Bundala the tour heads to Yal Overnight stay at Mandara Rosen – Standard room
Today’s excursion is to Yala National Park by jeep. Yala is the largest National Park in Sri Lanka and a home to wild elephants, boar, buffalo, leopard, bears and crocodiles. Large flocks of migratory and indigenous birds can also be found here. Overnight stay at Mandara Rosen – Standard room
After breakfast at Mandara Rosen the tour takes the 3 hour drive to Ampara. Overnight stay at Monty Hotel, Ampara – standard room
Day 7 takes us to Gal Oya National Park, home to a large herd of elephants and a reservoir that supports a large population of native birds, who make their nests on an island in the middle. Indeed, to get to the park in the first instance we will need to travel by boat. The park is also home to leopard, buffalo, deer, wild boar and mugger crocodiles. After breakfast at the Monty Hotel Ampara the tour makes the four hour drive to Kandy before. Overnight stay at Hotel Randholee – standard room
After breakfast you will be transferred from Kandy to the airport – a journey of approximately 3 hours.
