You’ll be collected from your hotel at 05.30am for a short flight to Izmir where our tour commences. When you arrive, after meeting your rep, you will take a drive through the Aegean coast to Ephesus.
Once in Ephesus, you’ll enjoy a tour of the ancient city of Ephesus and the famous Artemis Temple. You’ll be captivated by the historic atmosphere in particular the old city and stadium, which was once the site of horse races and daring chariot races. After the city tour, you can see some traditional handmade Turkish crafts and stopover the site that is purported to have been the Virgin Mary’s home. Before leaving you should also see the antiques in the museum in the area of Selcuk. Today your lunchtime meal will be included, and tonight will be spent in the resort of Kusadasi.
Second Day: Pamukkale
We’ll start the morning with a browse of local handmade leather produce before we continue our journey to the glorious landscape of Pamukkale. Here, you can see the snow-white terraces that cascade down the hillside and take a swim in the natural hot springs amongst ancient relics from the Roman era. Today your breakfast & lunchtime meal will be included, and you will spend your second night in the resort of Kusadasi.
Third Day: Cappadocia
In the morning, we will be taking a domestic flight to your next location – amazing Cappadocia! After meeting the local rep, we will drop you to your hotel for this first day. The ancient landscape of Cappadocia is a state treasure, and considered to be Turkey’s crowning glory. Today you will have had your breakfast in Kusadasi included, and you will spend your first evening in Cappadocia.
Fourth Day: Cappadocia – the north stretch
We begin our day with a trip to the charming coastal village of Esentepe before visiting Uchisar Castle. Our journey continues with a trek to Cavusin through the beautiful Rose Valley, where you will have lunch, and later gain knowledge about the locally handmade pottery. We then visit the famous Chimneys of Pasabag before moving on to the Urgup Winery in Devrent Valley to sample Cappadocia’s delicious local wines. On this day your breakfast and lunchtime meal will be included, and you will spend your second night in Cappadocia.
Fifth Day: Cappadocia – the south stretch
We start our morning with a trip to the famous Valley’s, followed by Red Valley before visiting the cave churches of Cavusin. We then continue to Kaymakli, to discover the region’s largest underground city. On this day your breakfast and lunchtime meal will be included, and you will spend your third night in Cappadocia.
Sixth Day: Return back to Istanbul
Unfortunately the tour is now complete. When you finish your breakfast we will take a domestic flight back to Istanbul. We anticipate being in Istanbul at 10.30am. From here you can further extend your stay in Istanbul and discover much more this beautiful city has to offer or alternatively take your onward international flight back home. On this day you will have your last breakfast in Cappadocia before heading to the airport.
Accommodation will be provided at the hotels stated in the programme. In the event of the hotels becoming unavailable, alternative accommodation will be sourced for clients in hotels of an equal or higher standard.
