As the local capital of the Musandam peninsula, Khasab offers the chance to explore sunlit waters that are a flicker with exotic sea life (including dolphins!) Its natural harbour, which was built to defend against rough seas, is a major characteristic of the area.
The atmosphere is one of complete peace, with a focus on nature and history. There are some shops in the city, some of which sell modern clothes and items, while there are also a lot of crafts and handmade items such as pottery being sold.
This is truly a place for exploration though, with this being the home of the Oman Fjords. The Fjords have the clearest of waters, illuminated a glowing turquoise beneath the sun. The surrounding cliffs provide scenery that is completely removed from anywhere else in the world, which allows visitors to forget any stresses and spend time instead losing themselves in the vast array of flora and fauna.
It’s ideal and most popular for going on day cruises around. For a break you could grab a bite to eat in one of the luxurious hotels in the area, such as The Khasab Hotel or The Golden Tulip Hotel. You could even take a trip to Dubai from here if you wish, due to Khasab being linked to the United Arab Emirates.
