Professor Mustafa Camgoz, the world famous cancer researcher who is the chairman of the ‘Pro Cancer Research Foundation’ shop was opened in a ceremony by Enfield Mayor Jayne Buckland. This is the first Turkish charity shop opened in London, located at Palmers Green. The opening ceremony was had colourful scenes. There was a major interest in the ceremony because it is the first charity shop of the Turkish speaking community. Prof. Mustafa Camgoz, Support Group Chairman Gonul Salih, members Dr. Deborah Prince, Sabire Camgoz, Seniz Cemal, Sensev Mustafa, Aysın Yılmaz, Nesrin Nevzat, and Enfield Council (Labour Party) Assembly Member Alev Cazim and a very large numbers of Turkish and English guests was at the opening ceremony.
We are here to support Cancer patients and their families.
The charity organisation is the only charity for Turkish speaking cancer patients and families mentioned Prof. Mustafa Camgoz, “Unfortunately breast, prostate and other cancer types are very widespread. We are giving all the support to the patients and families as a foundation. This shop was setup to support the Cancer Research Foundation financially which we require financial support. Thanks to everyone who supported, especially to the vision of Philip Chart who has worked hard for the opening of the shop” he said.
Waiting for the support of helpful people
 Sabire Camgoz, the Foundation Support Group Member mentioned the foundation will help 100 cancer patients directly and help 400 patients indirectly. The aim of the shop is to continue the help, provide financial help and increase the services she said. She said “For this job, me and 2 others are working full time and we are doing everything to comfort the lives of the cancer patients and their families”. The help shop located at Green Lanes, Palmers Green is open for 7 days a week and the foundation authorities are waiting for the donations of the helpful people.
Pro Cancer Research Foundation Orchid Walk 2011.
Direct Traveller invites you to visit North Cyprus and take part in our 12 mile Orchid Walk in the Kyrenia Mountains, to help raise money for research into Prostate and Breast Cancer.
*Raise £1000 in sponsorship money for this good cause and get to travel to North Cyprus for just £50 per person. This includes a 7ngt package with flights, B&B accommodation and return transfers.
It seems that everyone has been touched by Cancer in one way or another.
The top common cancers -include lung, breast, colorectal and prostate.
In 2011, this will be the eighth walk for the charity. Direct Traveller is proud to be the official sponsors of such an amazing cause. We would like to announce that registration is now open to all those who want to join next years walk. We would like to thank all those who have registered so far, and wish you all the best in collecting as much sponsors as possible.
There are 31 walkers this year and over 600 people will be joining the walk locally. The organisation is honoured to have Professor Jane Plant, who has sold millions of books about her cancer diet. Each walker needs to raise a minimum of 1000 so we hope to raise a total of £31,000 +.
